Opportunity: Financial Planner

A leading regional financial planning practice is seeking a Financial Planner to manage an existing portfolio of Private Clients in Manchester. The firm has strong links with a local accountancy firm, though they are not in a joint venture.

The client portfolios typically range from £250k to £5m, with no strict upper or lower limits, depending on client needs and complexity. The firm offers a portfolio of approximately £20m for the Financial Planner to take over. The role also involves sourcing new clients through referrals and business development efforts. Additionally, there is an opportunity to work with a professional practice that lacks an internal Financial Planner, providing further business opportunities.

About the Firm

The firm is a leading regional practice led by the MD and Senior Adviser, focusing on high-net-worth clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review existing client portfolios alongside an existing Financial Planner.
  2. Assist with the transition of clients from retiring advisers.
  3. Utilize cash flow modelling and lifestyle financial planning tools as needed.
  4. Understand client needs, especially concerning complex matters such as IHT, VCT, EIS, and SIPP/SSAS schemes.
  5. Maintain compliant and up-to-date client files in collaboration with the technical team.
  6. Stay current with CPD requirements.
  7. Proactively seek new client opportunities through referrals and business development.
