Financial Performance Actuary - Retail Protection, London

Legal & General is seeking an experienced Qualified Actuary to join our Retail Finance team as a Financial Performance Manager for the Retail Protection business.

This role involves supporting the business with ongoing management and optimisation of financial results, including IFRS17, monitoring performance against key metrics, ensuring financial controls and procedures are followed, and providing financial MI to stakeholders up to Director level.

While this position is within the Retail Protection team, prior experience in Retail Protection is not mandatory, and applications from diverse backgrounds are welcome.

This is a hybrid role, based at any of our UK offices (London, Cardiff, or Hove), allowing a balance of home and office work.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring financial performance against key metrics
• Using financial data to advise management and challenge stakeholders
• Supporting development of financial analytical capabilities
• Producing and communicating financial results timely and in compliance with standards
• Reporting MI and ensuring financial controls are observed
• Considering fair treatment of customers in analysis and decisions

Ideal candidate profile:

• Fully Qualified Actuary
• Experience in financial management/reporting, preferably within a Life insurance context, with knowledge of Solvency II & IFRS17
• Understanding of Protection products, risks, and regulations (advantageous)
• Proficiency in Excel, Prophet, and DCS
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical info to non-technical audiences
• Effective influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Flexible, able to multitask and meet deadlines
• Capable of working independently and within a team
