As Finance Director, you will have the chance to shape the financial strategy of a dynamic Group, influence key business decisions, and play a central role in preparing the business for future private equity investment.

Role Overview

They are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Finance Director to join our executive team. This is a hands-on, first-time FD role ideal for a candidate who could come from a transactional services or M&A advisory background. The successful individual will play a pivotal role in supporting the Group's commercial and operational functions, driving financial strategy, and preparing the business for future private equity investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Lead and develop the small finance function, ensuring robust financial management, reporting, and compliance across all Group brands.
  • IT : Assume responsibility for the IT Manager and be heavily involved in systems implementation and development
  • Key Projects/Mentoring : Work closely with the Senior Management Team on Key Projects and help mentor and develop colleagues whilst also learning from them
  • Transaction Support: Provide financial expertise in evaluating and executing M&A transactions, including due diligence, financial modelling, and integration planning.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the Group's growth objectives.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify and drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and profitability across the Group's operations.
  • Investor Relations: Prepare financial presentations and reports for potential investors, supporting the Group's efforts to secure future private equity investment.
  • Team Development: Build and lead a developing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Key Requirements

  • Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven track record in a senior finance role which could from a professional services environment, particularly in M&A advisory or transactional services but open to sector experience
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial strategy, business operations, and the M&A landscape.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Package: between £90,000 to £100,000 + bonus + future equity (would be flexible for the right candidate)

This role could suit a fully qualified accountant who has had experience working within a M&A, transactional services or professional services role previously but my client to open to sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong commercially focussed individual who is looking to make a significant difference.
