Itchyfeet Recruitment Agency's client is seeking a Financial Crime Support Analyst (Level 3) to join the Guernsey team. You will provide vital administrative and operational support to the MLRO, Deputy MLRO, and senior compliance colleagues, helping manage AML, CFT, and sanctions processes.

You will log SARs, maintain records, assist with trend analysis, and safeguard confidentiality while collaborating with Compliance, Risk, and Operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in compliance, financial crime, or administration within financial services.
  • Basic awareness of Guernsey AML/CFT requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Formal qualification in Compliance or Financial Crime is appreciated but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of customer due diligence, client risk assessment and SAR processes is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with insurance products and related financial crime risks is preferable.
  • Experience in preparing records and reports for senior review is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to MLRO, Deputy MLRO, and senior compliance for financial crime activities.
  • Log, collate, and organise internal SARs, escalating for senior review.
  • Ensure SAR disclosures are documented and retained per legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records of SAR activities including outcomes and follow-ups.
  • Assist in preparing information for monitoring SAR trends.
  • Provide admin support and escalate sensitive matters with financial crime insights.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding SARs and investigations.
  • Support horizon scanning with trackers and updates.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Financial Crime Support Analyst (Level 3) to join their team in Guernsey. This role provides vital administrative and operational support to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), Deputy MLRO, and senior compliance colleagues in managing financial crime matters. You will assist in the maintenance and oversight of financial crime processes, records, and controls, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT), and sanctions compliance. Working collaboratively with teams across compliance, risk, and operations, you will facilitate accurate record-keeping and support the timely escalation of any financial crime risks. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to ethical standards and development in the realm of financial crime.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the MLRO, Deputy MLRO, and senior Compliance colleagues on financial crime-related activities, including suspicious activity reporting and sanctions management.
  • Log, collate, and initially organise internal Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), escalating matters for senior review.
  • Ensure that internal SAR disclosures are accurately documented and retained in accordance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Maintain clear administrative records of SAR activities, including outcomes and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in preparing information that allows senior colleagues to monitor suspicious activity reporting trends.
  • Provide practical administrative support where financial crime insights are needed, promptly escalating sensitive matters.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding SARs, investigations, and related matters.
  • Support horizon scanning by maintaining trackers and circulating relevant updates.
  • Comply with fit and proper obligations while fostering a strong compliance culture within the organisation.
  • Build effective working relationships with Operations, Customer Services, Distribution, and Risk teams to ensure timely information gathering.
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to Compliance and Risk colleagues, including assistance with risk assessments and regulatory enquiries.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • You should have experience in compliance, financial crime, administration, or the financial services sector, with a willingness to develop specialist financial crime knowledge.
  • A basic awareness of Guernsey AML/CFT requirements and related regulatory obligations is desirable; eagerness to enhance this knowledge is essential.
  • A formal qualification in Compliance, Financial Crime, or a related discipline is appreciated but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of customer due diligence, client risk assessment, and suspicious activity reporting processes is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with insurance products and their associated financial crime risks is preferable.
  • Experience in preparing accurate records and reports for senior review is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn compliance systems is required.
  • An interest in how technology and data can enhance financial crime administration and reporting is important.
