The Part-Time Finance People are seeking a qualified Financial Controller to work with growing SMEs on a part-time basis, delivering core finance functions across multiple clients. This two-day-per-week role is rightly suited to self-employed professionals who want portfolio work and a commercial mindset.

Based in Leeds, the role is Onsite two days per week at client sites around Leeds and surrounding areas, with a pay rate of £35 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function for SME clients.
• Manage and develop a small finance team.
• Implement appropriate financial controls.
• Oversee budgets, cash flow and profit forecasting.
• Prepare year-end processes (not statutory accounts).
• Present financial information to non-financial leaders.

About the role:

The role is to work with our clients in their business, this could be within a variety of industries including professional services, manufacturing, retail/wholesale, construction, technology or media. The basics in the finance function are covered but there is a need for an experienced and commercially-minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function and help move the business forward, on a part-time basis.

About You:

You should be a qualified and experienced Financial Controller with experience working in growing SMEs. Ideally, you are already self-employed and available quickly with at least 2 days of availability per week.

Your expertise should include:

• management accounts
• balance sheet reconciliations
• budgets, cashflow and profit forecasting
• experience and working knowledge of Xero
• experience of managing and leading a small team
• experienced in assessing and implementing appropriate financial controls
• year-end processes (but not statutory accounts)
• experienced excel user including pivots, sumifs and graphs
• proficiency in presenting financial and commercial information to non-financial leaders
• you must be fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACMA/FCCA/ICAEW) or QBE (5+ years) with experience managing a finance team

As this role is two days a week (self employed basis) it could work alongside other client work

Rate of pay:

£35 per hour
