The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a fast-paced and internationally recognised fashion business at the intersection of talent, creativity, and brand representation. With operations across key global cities and a strong presence in London, this multifaceted group supports some of the most exciting figures in fashion, working behind the scenes to drive commercial success for creatives across the industry.

Representing a diverse portfolio of fashion-focused ventures—from creative services to talent management—the business operates with a strong commercial backbone, a deep understanding of the luxury space, and a commitment to innovation. As the company continues to evolve and grow, they are looking for a Financial Controller to lead the London finance team and play a key role in shaping financial strategy for their UK operations.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you’ll lead the finance function across several entities, steering financial operations and strategy in partnership with the senior leadership team. With responsibility for a team of 5 and oversight of cost centre accounting (including revenue, gross profit, and personnel costs), this is a hands-on leadership role with global impact.

While technical ability is important, this role is equally suited to someone who brings a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach. You’ll be working in a lively, commercially driven environment where no two days are the same. The ability to stay calm under pressure, adapt quickly, and communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance colleagues will be key to thriving in this role.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to shape financial planning and business strategy.
• Lead and develop a finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis to support decision-making.
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple business units.
• Collaborate across teams to support operations, compliance, and risk management.
• Manage third-party providers to ensure smooth transactional processes.
• Liaise with auditors and uphold strong internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to process improvements and the rollout of standardised practices.
• Provide insight on revenue, cost trends, and business performance.

What We Need to See (Required):

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience within the fashion industry
• Multinational experience

What We’d Like to See (Preferred):

• Experience leading outsourced finance teams and global reporting lines
• A natural relationship-builder who brings positivity and resilience to their team and peers
