Job summary

NXTGEN is recruiting a Financial Controller in Norwich to own the monthly reporting cycle, manage cash forecasting and ensure robust controls across ledgers, payroll and supplier payments. The role collaborates with senior decision-makers to explain performance against budget.

You’ll produce management accounts, reconcile balance sheets, build budgets and rolling forecasts, and help strengthen financial processes through improved reporting and approvals.

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in management accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience handling high-value payments and cash forecasting.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues across the business.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly reporting cycle; prepare management accounts and explain performance against budget.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany records.
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with view of cash commitments.
• Keep investor records up to date; reconcile receipts against investment balances.
• Calculate interest due and organise payment schedules for maturities, repayments and redemptions.
• Review development funding requests against milestones and approvals.
• Check payment instructions and bank details; maintain approval procedures for large transactions.
• Reconcile business and client accounts; coordinate with compliance on funds separation.
• Oversee ledgers, payment runs, credit control, expenses and payroll.
• Coordinate audit information; support external advisers with statutory accounts, VAT and tax.
