Job Description:

Salary: Up to £90K, dependent on experience

Location: Nottinghamshire

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Mondays and Tuesdays at Head Office, rest from home)

Our client, a respected financial services organization specializing in Mortgage & Savings, is recruiting for an Interim Financial Controller for a 6-month period due to restructuring. Immediate availability is required. The role involves managing a team of 4, overseeing financial operations including treasury back office, accounts payable, payments, and reconciliations. Responsibilities include financial reporting, risk management, compliance, auditing, and tax support.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage month and year-end reporting, liaising with auditors.
  • Control of ALMIS system and treasury operations.
  • Understand and sign off regulatory returns in the absence of the FD.
  • Prepare reports for the Board and committees.
  • Produce ICAAP and Recovery Plan if needed.
  • Oversee FRS 102 reporting, bad debt provision, hedge accounting, and compliance with lease accounting changes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years PQE.
  • Experience in PRA-regulated financial services, preferably mortgage lending.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of PRA regulations, ICAAP & ILAAP.
  • Understanding of ALMIS treasury system.
  • Excel and Management Information skills.
