Job summary

En Route International is seeking a commercially minded, qualified accountant to join our leadership team as Financial Controller. You will partner with the Finance Director to drive strategic direction, governance, and performance across six legal entities in a fast-moving, international business.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Significant experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
• Strong background in financial and management reporting.
• Experience within an international group environment.
• Proven expertise in financial consolidation.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Audit background.
• FMCG or manufacturing sector experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead external financial reporting across the group and its six legal entities.
• Oversee the preparation and review of separate and consolidated monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure high-quality monthly management reporting packs are delivered to Group within agreed deadlines.
• Act as the primary Finance lead for internal audit engagements, managing responses and remediation plans.
• Develop, maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies and governance frameworks.
• Lead cash forecasting activities and support effective liquidity management.
• Manage foreign exchange risk and exposure across the group.
• Oversee global payroll processes, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal requirements.
• Lead credit risk management activities and proactively mitigate financial exposure.
• Partner with the Finance Director to drive continuous improvement, process optimisation and system enhancements.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing Finance team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance reviews, mentoring and development planning.
• Ensure effective cross‑training and succession planning across the team.
• Build strong working relationships across Finance and the wider business.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, strengthening governance frameworks and driving operational excellence across the business and its six legal entities.

You will act as a key business partner, influencing decision-making while leading a talented finance team and delivering best-practice financial management across the organisation.

About You:

You are a technically strong finance professional who combines exceptional financial expertise with a proactive and commercially focused approach.

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Significant experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
• Strong background in financial and management reporting.
• Experience within an international group environment.
• Proven expertise in financial consolidation.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
