Job summary

EVEREST is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to support our Group Financial Controller with accurate reporting, strong financial control and clear insight across a busy, multi-site business.

You will review management accounts, support statutory accounts and drive improvements in controls and processes while mentoring junior colleagues within the Group Finance team. This role offers breadth, exposure and visible impact in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with strong post-qualification experience.
• Solid background in management accounts, financial accounts, reporting and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems and data.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting packs.
• Supporting statutory accounts, audit activity, VAT, corporation tax and wider compliance requirements.
• Strengthening financial controls, governance and reporting processes across the Group.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and treasury activity.
• Providing clear financial insight to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Guiding and supporting colleagues within the Group Finance team.

Experience in a multi-site, group, retail, manufacturing, construction or home improvement environment would be advantageous, as would experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
