Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is assisting a well established North Leeds family business in recruiting an experienced Financial Controller. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee day-to-day financial management, monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and regulatory compliance.

You will lead the finance team, drive continuous improvement across processes and provide strategic financial analysis to support growth plans.

Qualifications

• Must hold professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
• Strong technical accounting skills with experience leading a finance function.
• Experience delivering monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of monthly management accounts and board reporting.

Job description

Well established North Leeds based family business with a fantastic reputation require an experienced Financial Controller to support the next stage of their development.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the business, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting together with effective financial controls across the organisation. You will lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, manage cash flow and ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

In addition, you will take responsibility for the finance team, providing leadership, support and development whilst driving continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and controls. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decision making through the provision of insightful financial analysis, whilst working closely with senior management to help deliver the company's ongoing growth plans.

Ideally you will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified with previous experience operating at Financial Controller level within a commercial environment. Strong technical accounting skills, coupled with the ability to lead and develop a finance function, are essential. Exposure within an IT, engineering or manufacturing environment would be advantageous, although candidates from other commercial backgrounds will also be considered.
