Job summary

Investigo Limited is partnering with a fast-growing, PE-backed manufacturing business to recruit a Financial Controller. You will lead the finance function, work closely with the CFO and drive robust controls, reporting and financial infrastructure to support growth.

In this hands-on leadership role you will manage month-end close, board packs, audits and budgeting, while developing a high-performing team and partnering with operations to improve profitability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Experience in PE-backed environment.
• Strong technical accounting and financial controls expertise.
• Experience leading teams in manufacturing/industrial businesses.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team to a high-performing, collaborative culture.
• Own the month-end close, delivering accurate management accounts.
• Produce monthly board reporting, KPI analysis and financial commentary.
• Maintain robust financial controls and drive process improvements.
• Manage annual audit and liaison with external auditors, tax advisers and bankers.
• Drive improvements in processes, reporting capabilities and systems.
• Partner with department heads to improve cost control, profitability and operations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with the CFO and leadership team.

The Opportunity

Our client is a growing private equity-backed manufacturing business seeking an ambitious Financial Controller to join its leadership team.Working closely with the CFO, you will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, high-quality reporting and the financial infrastructure required to support continued growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys driving improvements across processes, systems and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring a high-performing and collaborative culture.
• Own the month-end close process, delivering accurate and timely management accounts.
• Produce monthly board reporting, KPI analysis and financial performance commentary.
• Maintain a robust financial control environment, identifying and implementing process improvements where required.
• Manage the annual audit process and coordinate relationships with external auditors, tax advisers and banking partners.
• Drive improvements in financial processes, reporting capability and finance systems.
• Partner with department heads to improve cost control, profitability and operational performance.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with the CFO and wider leadership team.

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Previous experience operating within a private equity-backed environment.
• Strong technical accounting and financial controls expertise.
• Experience leading teams within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial business.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Proven experience delivering process improvements and strengthening control frameworks.
