Role Overview
You’ll combine accuracy and discipline in financial reporting with a commercial mindset that supports decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
- Deliver timely, accurate monthly consolidated and entity-level management accounts , including commentary on business performance.
- Prepare annual statutory accounts and manage the external audit process.
- Oversee VAT, tax compliance , and all statutory reporting.
- Manage intercompany transactions within the group.
- Maintain strong balance sheet control, reconciliations , and general ledger integrity.
Cashflow & Working Capital
- Own cashflow forecasting and day-to-day liquidity management.
- Monitor debtor and creditor positions, driving improvements in credit control and supplier payments.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budget process and rolling reforecast cycle.
- Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations to management.
- Build financial models to evaluate scenarios and business cases.
Business Partnering & Commercial Support
- Partner with Commercial, Operations, and Technology teams to provide financial insight that drives profitability and efficiency.
- Support our CFO and Head of Administration in margin, channel, cohort, and commercial KPI analysis (e.g., LTV, CAC) to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Contribute to strategic planning with practical, data-driven advice.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Ensure financial systems are robust, efficient, and scalable as the company grows.
- Drive automation and efficiency in reporting and transactional finance.
Essential Skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ICAS) with minimum 5 years PQE .
- Proven track record in financial control, reporting, and cash management in a growing SME.
- Strong management accounting and forecasting skills.
- Hands‑on, “ roll up sleeves ” approach, comfortable operating at both detailed and strategic levels.
- Strong systems and Excel skills, including financial modelling and process improvement.
Desirable
- Experience in SaaS or e-commerce sectors.
- Exposure to multi‑currency , international operations and transfer pricing .
- Experience working with high‑growth or private equity-backed businesses.
