Job summary

IPS Finance is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to lead group financial reporting across multiple sites. You will directly influence senior leadership, act as a commercial sounding board, and contribute to acquisitions with a clear path to an FD role.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and multi-entity experience, delivering high-quality reporting and strong business partnering across subsidiaries. A UK driving licence is essential for site travel.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification required.
• Experience as Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager in multi-entity or group environment.
• Excellent financial reporting discipline and rigour.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate numbers into business decisions.
• Advanced Excel and proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
• Proven ability to raise reporting standards across subsidiaries.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate, timely monthly management accounts across the group.
• Prepare consolidated management reporting and financial analysis for senior leadership.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
• Partner with finance teams across subsidiaries to keep reporting standards and month-end deadlines consistent.
• Provide commercial analysis and performance reporting that shapes operational and strategic decisions.
• Monitor financial controls, flag risks and drive process improvements.
• Prepare board reporting, financial commentary and KPI analysis.
• Support the year-end audit and statutory reporting.
• Work alongside senior stakeholders on business improvement projects, systems upgrades and process efficiencies.
• Get involved in the financial side of acquisitions and growth initiatives as the group expands.

A growing, privately owned group is looking to appoint a commercially minded Financial Controller to oversee financial reporting, controls and performance across the group and its subsidiaries.

Reporting to senior leadership, this is a broad and varied role offering real influence across the wider business. You'll ensure high-quality financial reporting while providing meaningful commercial insight to support decision making, with genuine exposure to funding activity, acquisitions and the group's growth plans.

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.

• Commercially sharp, able to interpret the numbers and use them to influence decisions.
• Strong Excel skills; comfortable in ERP or accounting systems.
• Ability to raise standards across subsidiary finance teams and drive consistently high-quality financial reporting.
• Full UK driving licence and willing to travel between sites.

Salary & Benefits

• £70,000 - £80,000.
• Excellent benefits package including bonus and car allowance.
