Job summary

IPS Finance is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to oversee financial reporting across the group and subsidiaries. You will report to senior leadership, gaining exposure to ownership, and involvement in acquisitions and funding activity as the group grows.

The role offers broad influence and a clear path to FD, with responsibilities spanning management reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and KPI analysis across multiple sites.

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Experience as Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager in multi-entity group.
  • Excellent financial reporting rigour.
  • Commercially sharp with ability to influence decisions.
  • Strong Excel and ERP/accounting System skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willing to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate, timely monthly management accounts across the group.
  • Prepare consolidated management reporting and financial analysis for senior leadership.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
  • Partner with finance teams across subsidiaries to align reporting standards.
  • Provide commercial analysis and KPI reporting for decision making.
  • Monitor financial controls, flag risks and drive process improvements.
  • Support year-end audit and statutory reporting.
  • Collaborate on business improvement projects and systems upgrades.
  • Contribute to acquisitions and growth initiatives as the group expands.
  • Assist in board reporting and financial commentary.

Want a founding seat in the group finance team of an acquisitive, multi-site group? Read on.

Direct exposure to the people who own and run the business. Real exposure to acquisitions. You'll fulfil the Financial Controller role while acting as a commercial sounding board to senior leadership, with a clear path to develop into an FD.

A growing, privately owned group is looking to appoint a commercially minded Financial Controller to oversee financial reporting, controls and performance across the group and its subsidiaries.

Reporting to senior leadership, this is a broad and varied role offering real influence across the wider business. You'll ensure high-quality financial reporting while providing meaningful commercial insight to support decision making, with genuine exposure to funding activity, acquisitions and the group's growth plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate, timely monthly management accounts across the group.
  • Prepare consolidated management reporting and financial analysis for senior leadership.

  • Provide commercial analysis and performance reporting that shapes operational and strategic decisions.
  • Monitor financial controls, flag risks and drive process improvements.
  • Prepare board reporting, financial commentary and KPI analysis.
  • Support the year-end audit and statutory reporting.
  • Work alongside senior stakeholders on business improvement projects, systems upgrades and process efficiencies.
  • Get involved in the financial side of acquisitions and growth initiatives as the group expands.
About You
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager experience in a multi-entity or group environment.
  • Excellent financial reporting rigour.
  • Commercially sharp, able to interpret the numbers and use them to influence decisions.
  • Strong Excel skills; comfortable in ERP or accounting systems.
  • Ability to raise standards across subsidiary finance teams and drive consistently high-quality financial reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence and willing to travel between sites.
Salary & Benefits
  • 70,000 - 80,000.
  • Excellent benefits package including bonus and car allowance.
