Job summary

IPS Finance in Leeds is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen and develop the finance function within a growing construction group. This hands-on role includes taking ownership of financial reporting, controls and processes, with clear line to the Financial Director.

You will lead monthly management accounts, group reporting, cash forecasting and year-end processes, working across multiple entities and improving KPI reporting for senior management.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience across multiple entities would be beneficial.
• Good understanding of controls, processes and financial systems.
• Hands-on individual with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Consolidate Group reporting across entities and provide KPI analysis.
• Forecast cash flow and manage working capital.
• Prepare Board reports and financial analysis.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
• Manage year-end and audit processes.
• Handle VAT, PAYE and CIS returns.
• Support lender and external stakeholder relationships.
• Improve controls, processes and reporting.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.

We are working with a successful and growing construction group based in Leeds, which is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen and develop its finance function. The role reports to the Financial Director.

This is a broad, hands-on role offering the opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting, controls and processes within a growing business. It will suit a technically strong accountant, potentially someone who has trained in practice before moving into industry.

The Role

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Group reporting and consolidation across multiple entities
• Cash flow forecasting and management
• Preparation of Board reports and financial analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting and business planning
• Management of year-end accounts and audit processes
• VAT, PAYE and CIS returns
• Supporting lender and external stakeholder relationships
• Improving financial controls, processes and reporting
• Identifying opportunities to automate and improve the efficiency of the finance function
• Developing KPI reporting and providing commercial insight to senior management
• Supporting the wider finance team with day-to-day accounting where required

About You

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
• Experience of working across multiple entities would be beneficial
• Good understanding of controls, processes and financial systems
• Strong Excel and IT skills
• Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail
• A hands-on individual who is happy to get involved in the detail
