My client operates within the technology sector and is looking to recruit a qualified accountant for this hands-on Financial Controller vacancy based in Reading.

You will work directly for the Finance Director and be responsible for the company’s monthly financial and management accounting. The role includes management of a small team, and a mindset of continued improvement and strong systems skills will be essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end accounting processes, supporting the team and hitting reporting deadlines.
• Manage the wider finance team and ensure that accounting processes are applied correctly and consistently.
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review statutory accounts.
• Produce management reports with associated commentary.
• Work with budget holders and advise on finance-related issues.
• Support and implement systems and process improvements.
• Cashflow forecasting.

The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant and experienced Finance Manager/Financial Controller. They will have worked in a smaller entity and enjoy the hands-on aspects of the task. They will have operated in a complex environment, have the ability to communicate with the wider business, and have managed a team of junior finance professionals.
