Job summary

Galent Recruitment is seeking a Financial Controller for a PE-backed renewable energy platform in Peterborough. You will lead month-end reporting, drive robust financial controls, and support budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting across the group.

You will oversee statutory reporting, audits and capital expenditure, partner with senior leaders, and improve systems and reporting processes in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with hybrid working and strong career development

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Previous Financial Controller experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience in asset-intensive environments (infrastructure/renewable energy)
• Experience with project accounting and capex reporting
• Strong commercial awareness and business partnering capability
• Hands-on approach in a growing organisation

Overview

GALENT is recruiting for a Financial Controller role within a rapidly growing, PE‑backed renewable energy platform based in Peterborough. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the finance function and supporting the next phase of expansion. It is a highly visible position working closely with senior leadership and operational teams in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the month‑end reporting process and producing accurate management accounts
• Developing and enhancing financial controls, governance and reporting frameworks
• Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow reporting
• Supporting statutory reporting, audit processes and technical accounting matters
• Overseeing fixed asset accounting, project accounting and capital expenditure reporting

Qualifications and Experience

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Previous Financial Controller experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience within infrastructure, construction, utilities, renewable energy or other asset‑intensive environments
• Experience with project accounting and capital expenditure reporting
• Proven ability to improve systems, controls and reporting processesStrong commercial awareness and business partnering capability
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to thrive in a growing organisation
