Financial Controller | Permanent | £80,000-£100,000 | Central London (hybrid 3 days in office) | PE backed Buy & Build

A PE backed; multi-site buy and build business is looking to hire a Financial Controller on a permanent basis, based in their Paddington Head office (3 days in the office). This is an opportunity to work for a scale up brand that is highly acquisitive, they currently operate at £25 million across circa 20 sites with plans to grow to £75 million.

Reporting to the CFO, you will be operating as the number 2 and will be leading a team of 3. This is a hands on and initially challenging role where you will be reviewing existing processes, implementing more robust financial controls and recruiting a new team due to a Head Office relocation. As the role and business develops you will be involved in acquisitions and driving strategic initiatives to achieve the expected growth.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing existing processes across the group and implementing more robust financial controls
• Recruiting, leading and developing a team of 3 (with plans for this to grow in the future)
• Oversight of the monthly management accounts across 20+ sites including consolidation
• Management of finance operations including accounts payable, receivable and payroll
• Working with the CFO on commercial insights and driving the business strategy forward from a finance perspective
• Supporting with future acquisitions and integrating new businesses into the existing structure
• Partnering with key stakeholders across the business and operating as the go to finance person

Skill set required:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/practice trained preferred)
• Experience operating at FC/ Head of Finance level or looking to take that next step up
• Previous experience leading teams through change
• Previous experience implementing robust financial controls
• SME experience preferred but not essential
• Ability to use own initiative and be proactive and accountable for your work
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders
