Job description

We are working with a growing, international professional services business headquartered in London with offices across Europe, North America, and Asia. The firm provides specialist consulting and advisory services to institutional clients worldwide, delivering tailored solutions across multiple markets. With a collaborative culture and an entrepreneurial spirit, the company has ambitious growth plans and is investing heavily in technology and systems transformation to support its next phase of development.

The Role:

This is a hands-on role with broad exposure across all aspects of finance: statutory and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, systems and process improvement, tax and compliance, as well as supporting M&A activity. It is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to play a central role in scaling the finance function and preparing the business for future growth.

The Individual:

The business has a collegiate culture with a relatively flat structure, offering a supportive but fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a hands-on approach, strong technical knowledge, and a proven track record in leading finance within a growth-oriented SME or international environment. NetSuite and Financial Statement (FS) experience are essential.

Key experience and competencies:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), preferably practice trained
  • Experience across financial and management accounting, statutory reporting, tax, and operational finance
  • Previous experience implementing NetSuite is essential; other systems implementation experience considered
  • Experience of group consolidations under UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft tools
  • Post-qualification experience (3+ years) in a small, dynamic finance function
  • Experience using automation and AI tools to improve finance processes
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the management accountant and credit controller
  • Own the implementation and optimisation of NetSuite and related systems (e.g., Salesforce, BambooHR, Payhawk)
  • Oversee preparation of group consolidated management accounts and board reporting packs
  • Improve quality and speed of management information using new systems
  • Lead on revenue recognition, billing, debtor management, and forecasting
  • Work closely with the CFO on strategic finance matters, technical accounting, and new product accounting (recurring revenue, subscriptions, data etc.)
  • Manage cashflow forecasting and debt provider reporting
  • Liaise with overseas accountants to ensure timely reporting and compliance with tax/regulatory obligations
  • Oversee payroll, pensions and employee expenses systems (via outsourced providers)
  • Manage banking, treasury, and relationships with external providers
  • Own the annual audit process and statutory accounts preparation (outsourced, with review responsibility)
  • Ensure compliance with FCA and other regulatory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement across reporting, processes, and controls
