Job summary

IPS Group Limited in Leeds is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function, take ownership of monthly reporting, controls and processes, and work closely with the Financial Director.

You will manage group consolidation across entities, cash flow forecasting, budget and year-end processes, and develop KPI reporting to provide commercial insight.

The role suits a hands-on, technically strong qualified accountant with multi-entity experience and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with strong accounting technical knowledge.
• Experience in management accounting and financial reporting at a group level.
• Experience across multiple entities is beneficial.
• Good understanding of controls, processes and financial systems.
• Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Handle group reporting and consolidation across entities.
• Forecast cash flow and manage liquidity.
• Prepare Board reports and financial analysis.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
• Manage year-end accounts and audit processes.
• Prepare VAT, PAYE and CIS compliance.
• Support lender and external stakeholder relationships.
• Improve financial controls, processes and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve finance function efficiency.
• Develop KPI reporting and provide commercial insight to senior management.
• Support wider finance team with day-to-day accounting.

We are working with a successful and growing construction group based in Leeds, which is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen and develop its finance function. The role reports to the Financial Director.

This is a broad, hands-on role offering the opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting, controls and processes within a growing business. It will suit a technically strong accountant, potentially someone who has trained in practice before moving into industry.

The Role

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting

About You

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience

• Good understanding of controls, processes and financial systems
• Strong Excel and IT skills
• Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail
• A hands‑on individual who is happy to get involved in the detail
