Amplifi Talent is partnering with an award-winning, locally owned, multi-site SME headquartered in Antrim, to recruit a suitably experienced Financial Controller on a permanent basis. With ambitious plans for growth, our client is seeking a hands-on finance professional to lead and manage the finance function with a focus on control, insight, and financial guidance & support.

Role Overview

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial management of the business. You will support senior leadership through timely, accurate, and insightful management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and cashflow management. This is a key hire as the business scales and professionalizes its finance operations. The role may suit a seasoned Finance Manager / Controller or an ambitious Management Accountant looking to advance their career.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Management Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts to senior leadership; analyze financial performance, providing commentary and insights on variances; develop and maintain financial KPIs.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and reforecasting cycles; collaborate with department heads on budgets; build financial models for planning and scenario analysis.
3. Cashflow & Working Capital: Manage and forecast cashflow; monitor working capital; liaise with suppliers and customers; optimize liquidity.
4. Financial Operations & Controls: Maintain internal controls; oversee finance operations such as AP/AR, credit control, payroll, VAT returns; coordinate with external auditors.
5. Financial/Strategic Support: Support MD and CEO on financial strategy; assist with funding, investments, contract reviews, and pricing strategies.

Person Specification

Essential: Accounting professional with 5+ years' experience, preferably in an SME; strong management accounts and budgeting skills; cashflow management experience; proficient in Excel and financial modeling; proactive and commercially minded.

Desirable: Experience in tech or related sectors; familiarity with Sage or similar cloud accounting systems.
