Job summary

IPS Finance is working with a rapidly growing property development and investment group to appoint an ambitious Financial Controller who can take ownership of the finance function and develop into the group's Finance Director.

The role is genuinely broad and hands‑on, responsible for day‑to‑day finance while acting as a key contact for investors, lenders and senior stakeholders. It offers a fast track to Financial Director alongside development teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant from industry or practice.
• Experience in finance leadership roles across multi‑entity groups.

Responsibilities

• Taking overall responsibility for the finance function.
• Preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Leading cash flow forecasting across developments.
• Managing financial reporting across multiple SPVs.
• Overseeing group consolidation and reporting.
• Managing relationships with banks, lenders, investors and other external stakeholders.
• Understanding and managing debt facilities and lender requirements.
• Supporting funding proposals and development finance.
• Working closely with development and senior management teams.
• Improving financial processes, controls and reporting as the group scales.
• Managing and developing a finance team.
• Supporting the long‑term strategy around holding assets and exits.

As the business continues to scale, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Financial Controller who can take ownership of the finance function and develop into the group's Finance Director.

The Opportunity

This is a genuinely broad and hands‑on opportunity. You will be responsible for managing the day‑to‑day finance function while also acting as a key point of contact for investors, lenders and other senior stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be expected to get involved, take ownership and become a key member of the senior management team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall responsibility for the finance function
• Preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections
• Leading cash flow forecasting across a growing portfolio of developments
• Managing financial reporting across multiple SPVs
• Overseeing group consolidation and reporting
• Managing relationships with banks, lenders, investors and other external stakeholders
• Understanding and managing debt facilities and lender requirements
• Supporting funding proposals and development finance
• Working closely with the development and senior management teams
• Improving financial processes, controls and reporting as the group scales
• Managing and developing a finance team
• Supporting the long‑term strategy around holding assets and ultimately selling to pension and investment funds
