Job summary

National Charity is seeking an Interim Finance Manager / Head of Finance to lead the year-end audit and month-end close in a North London hybrid environment. Immediate start on a four-month contract, with two days in the office and potential for a 4-day week.

You will oversee a small team and own VAT and UK GAAP reporting. The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified leadership, proven audit experience, and a track record of fixing processes.

• Strong VAT and UK GAAP reporting knowledge.

Interim Finance Manager / Head of Finance | National Charity | North London, hybrid | £350–£375/day inside IR35

Interim, immediate start: audit season is here and month-end needs an owner.

I’m working with a well-established national charity in North London: a multi-entity group with a meaningful mission and a finance team ready for its next step. They need a qualified interim to provide senior cover while the permanent hire is made, lead the year-end audit and take ownership of operational finance.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the year-end audit through to sign-off
• Own month-end and aim to support reducing the close time
• Lead two direct reports and oversee AP and AR
• Own VAT and tighten controls and coding
• Draft reporting commentary for senior leadership and the board

What they’re looking for:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Recent year-end audit leadership, ideally audit-trained
• Solid VAT and UK GAAP reporting experience
• A track record of fixing processes and improving systems
• Charity experience is a bonus, not a must

The details:

immediate start, initial 4-month contract, 2 days a week in the office in North London, and a 4-day week can be considered.
