Job summary

Talentedge Recruitment Limited partners with an emerging technology business seeking a Financial Controller for a 12 month FTC to lead finance operations across Europe. The role will oversee end-to-end finance, audits, month-end close, VAT, payroll, and statutory reporting in UK GAAP and European GAAP.

You'll build and run a finance function, manage a growing team, and provide strategic financial analysis to support Europe expansion and decision making.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, preferably Big 4/Top 10.
• 3+ years PQE in startups/SMEs.
• Immediate availability or 1 month notice.
• Experience growing a finance function and building a team.
• Strong UK GAAP/European GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end finance across European entities.
• Manage balance sheet, P&L, bank reconciliations, AP/AR.
• Coordinate statutory reporting with auditors, VAT, payroll, year-end.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and close processes.
• Provide strategic financial analysis to support expansion.

Financial Controller - 12 Month FTC (VIEW TO GO PERM)

We are partnered with an emerging technology business who are looking for a Financial Controller for a 12 month FTC to lead their finance operation after expansion into Europe and help steer the business with commercial and strategic decision making whilst overseeing end-to-end finance operations in audit, month-end, transactional finance and more

This is a fantastic opportunity to run a finance function and build out a new finance team whilst taking the lead for their European expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end finance, overseeing the operation within European entities
• Manage the balance sheet, P&L, bank reconciliations, AP/AR and bank transactions.
• Liaise with external auditors for statutory reporting, VAT returns, payroll and complete the year-end audit, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and European GAAP.
• Prepare and consolidate the monthly management accounts, leading monthly close processes and liaising with the global HQ for reporting.
• Support on financial analysis, seeking strategic routes into global expansion and provide strategic reports to aid decision making.

About you:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, preferably from Big 4/Top 10 accounting practice, 3+ years PQE and/or industry experience within start-ups/SME’s
• Must be immediately available or within a 1 month notice period
• Proven experience running a finance function and ability to grow a team
• Strong experience with UK GAAP/European GAAP
• Experienced in implementing new financial systems and creating processes to enhance efficiency
• Experienced in managing a company audit and preparing management accounts is essential
