Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting a Financial Controller for our client in Glasgow. The role leads daily financial control, manages ledgers, payroll and reporting, and drives cost-saving initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has senior finance experience, strong Excel and accounting software skills, and the ability to lead and communicate with stakeholders while meeting tight deadlines. Permanent, full-time position with on-site parking.

The Best Connection is currently recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client based in the Carntyne area of Glasgow for an experienced Financial Controller to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day financial control of the business.
• Manage sales and purchase ledgers, including sending and chasing invoices.
• Monitor debtors and creditors, ensuring payments are made and received on time.
• Process and manage company payroll accurately.
• Prepare financial reports and provide management with key financial information.
• Drive cost control initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce business expenditure.
• Maintain strong cash flow management.
• Lead and attend management meetings, providing financial insight and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers and key stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance role.
• Experience within a fast-paced finance environment.
• Proven experience in cost control and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
• Confident handling challenging conversations with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
