Job summary

Vitae Financial Recruitment has partnered with a growing international organisation to appoint a Financial Controller in Fleet, Hampshire. The role offers ownership of financial control across UK entities and contributes to shaping the finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead financial control, month-end reporting, and technical accounting while developing the finance team. Hybrid working is expected after an initial office-based handover, with around 1 day WFH.

Qualifications

• Strong financial control and technical accounting experience.
• Experience managing and developing a finance team.
• Excellent month-end, balance sheet and reporting knowledge.
• A good understanding of UK accounting standards.
• Experience improving processes, controls and systems.
• The confidence to take ownership and challenge existing ways of working.
• Experience with Business Central / Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial control across UK entities and oversee technical accounting.
• Manage month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Develop and coach the finance team to improve performance and capability.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen controls across the function.
• Support the transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related systems.
• Collaborate with the Head of Finance on strategic finance initiatives.

Financial Controller

Fleet, Hampshire | £80,000 + benefits

Vitae Financial Recruitment is working with a growing international organisation to recruit a Financial Controller for its UK finance function.

This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to take ownership of the financial control and technical accounting function across a number of UK entities, while helping shape the future structure of the finance team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead financial control, month-end reporting and technical accounting, while managing and developing the existing finance team. You will also play a key role in improving processes and controls and supporting the transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The role will initially be predominantly office-based in Fleet, particularly during the initial handover and transition period, with hybrid working expected to develop thereafter. The current expectation is around 1 day working from home, although this is open to discussion.

Candidates should ideally live within approximately a 30-minute drive of Fleet.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller, or technically strong Senior Finance Manager, with:

• Strong financial control and technical accounting experience
• Experience managing and developing a finance team
• Excellent month-end, balance sheet and reporting knowledge
• A good understanding of UK accounting standards
• Experience improving processes, controls and systems
• The confidence to take ownership and challenge existing ways of working
• Experience with Business Central / Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous but is not essential
