Job summary

Grafton Banks Finance is exclusive to recruit a Financial Controller for a c£10m turnover SME in Dartford. Candidates must be fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with hands-on SME experience at manager/controller level, to apply.

This is the most senior finance role, reporting to the owners with potential to evolve into Finance Director over time. It offers a varied opportunity to drive value in a growing business.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified with one of CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
• Experience in SME finance at manager/controller level.
• Strong knowledge of accounting controls and processes.

Responsibilities

• Overall control and responsibility for the accounting function.
• Line manage a small team of accounts clerks/assistants.
• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
• Budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Act as primary user/administrator of accounting packages.
• Manage Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Credit Control and General Ledger.
• Oversee bank accounts and payment setups.
• Manage GBP and EUR bank accounts and compliance.
• Prepare monthly VAT and PAYE returns.
• Ensure timely month-end supplier payments and balance sheet control.

Grafton Banks Finance is exclusively assisting a c£10m turnover growing and highly successful SME business in Dartford with the recruitment of a Financial Controller. Candidates must be fully qualified, either CIMA, ACCA or ACA and have previous hands-on SME experience at a Manager or Controller level to apply.

This is the most senior finance position in the company reporting directly to the owners and has the potential to evolve into a Finance Director position over time.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Overall control and responsibility for the accounting function within the company
• Line manage a small team of accounts clerks/assistants
• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts
• Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
• Act as the primary user/administrator of the accountancy packages
• Duties include Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Credit Control, and General Ledger
• Control of the bank accounts and payment set-ups.
• Managing the company's various GBP & Euro bank accounts
• Monthly VAT, PAYE returns
• Month End supplier payments
• Balance sheet control

This is a varied and interesting number one on finance opportunity enabling the successful individual to add genuine value to a growing and respected SME business.
