Job summary

TMR Group Ltd in London is seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial operations for a growing home furnishings brand. You will manage external bookkeeping, close month-end, and monitor margin performance while supporting audit processes.

The role is onsite four days a week, requires ACA/CIMA qualification, and experience with D2C and multi-entity setups. Xero and Excel proficiency is essential, with a clear path toward a finance director role.

Qualifications

• ACA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified
• D2C background with consumer brand experience
• Experience in startup/SME environments and standalone roles
• Proficient with Xero and Excel
• Ability to lead external bookkeeping and month-end close
• Experience across multi-entity environments (advantage)

Responsibilities

• Manage the external bookkeeping team
• Own month-end close including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor and review cost control and margin performance
• Act as key contact for audit processes
• Provide clear financial analysis and commentary on performance vs budget
• Implement processes and systems to support growth and operations

What will you do as a Financial Controller

• Manage the external bookkeeping team
• Own month-end close inc journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor and review cost control and margin performance
• Act as a key point of contact for audit processes
• Provide clear financial analysis and commentary on performance versus budget
• Implement processes and systems to ensure business growth aligns with operations

What will you need to be a Financial Controller

• Happy to be based onsite 4 days a week
• ACA/CIMA part or full qualified
• Worked in industry with a D2C background
• Multiple entity experience would be an advantage
• Proficient in Xero and Excel
• Worked for a startup / SME - ideally in a standalone role
