Job summary

Michael Page is representing a fast-growing logistics and supply chain client in Cambridgeshire. The Financial Controller will own the day-to-day finance function, provide robust financial control, and partner with the business to drive performance.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a visible leadership role combining financial control, team management, and process improvement in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with active membership.
• Post-qualification experience in a busy accounting environment.
• In-depth practical knowledge of FRS 102.
• Strong experience in financial control and financial reporting.
• Ability to review financial information accurately and meet reporting deadlines.
• Confident in managing accounting activities and leading reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial control activities for the Accounting & Finance department, ensuring records are complete and reliable.
• Prepare accurate financial reports revealing business performance.
• Apply practical knowledge of FRS 102 when producing and reviewing financial information.
• Maintain strong accounting processes to support timely reporting.
• Review financial data, identify issues and improve accuracy.
• Provide clear financial insight for business decisions.
• Oversee preparation of financial information for internal use, meeting deadlines.
• Ensure accounting activity complies with recognised financial reporting requirements.
• Lead and develop the finance team, driving performance and continuous improvement.

Description

• Manage the day-to-day financial control activities for the Accounting & Finance department, ensuring records are complete and reliable.

Profile

A successful 'Financial Controller' should have:
