Job description

The Senior Finance team at Hays Bristol is partnering with a market-leading organisation to recruit a newly created Group Financial Controller position. This opportunity follows a recent acquisition and is a key moment in the company's growth. With a turnover of £30 million, the business seeks a strategic finance leader to work closely with the Managing Director, driving financial performance and shaping the group's future.

This role is initially offered on a three-month temporary basis, allowing both parties to evaluate the fit. The client prefers an experienced Financial Controller with a strong background in managing group finances, especially someone aspiring to become a Group Finance Director, making this a valuable career step.

Job Description

Responsible for all financial and accounting aspects of the Group, collaborating with internal staff and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial and Accounting Operations: Oversee daily operations across all sites for efficient and accurate systems.
2. Financial Accounting and Reporting: Manage financial statements, including monthly management accounts, statutory annual accounts, and financial reports. Develop internal financial systems.
3. Budgets and Forecasts: Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts for the Group and external stakeholders.
4. Financial Planning and Analysis: Analyze business performance and provide insights to support strategic decisions. Advise directors on financial matters.
5. Compliance and Governance: Ensure legal compliance, manage relationships with external advisors (VAT, HMRC, Corporation Tax).
