Job description

The Senior Finance team at Hays Bristol is partnering with a market-leading organisation to recruit a newly created Group Financial Controller position. This opportunity follows a recent acquisition and marks a significant growth milestone for the company, which has a turnover of £30 million. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director to drive financial performance and shape the group's future.

This role is initially offered on a three-month temporary basis, allowing both parties to assess long-term fit. The client seeks an experienced Financial Controller with a strong background in managing group finances, ideally someone aspiring to become a Group Finance Director, making this an excellent career opportunity.

Job Description

To oversee all financial and accounting aspects of the Group, collaborating with internal finance staff and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial and Accounting Operations: Oversee daily operations across all sites to ensure efficient and accurate systems and procedures.
2. Financial Accounting and Reporting: Manage and produce financial statements, including monthly management accounts, statutory annual accounts, and financial reports. Develop and supervise internal financial systems.
3. Budgets and Forecasts: Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts for internal use and external stakeholders.
4. Financial Planning and Analysis: Conduct business performance analysis, providing insights to support strategic decisions and advising directors on financial matters.
5. Compliance and Governance: Ensure legal obligations are met and liaise with external advisors such as VAT, HMRC, and Corporation Tax.
