Job summary

SF Partners in the United Kingdom is seeking a Financial Controller to lead a small finance team and oversee monthly management accounts, month-end processes, and reporting. This office-based role reports to the Finance Director and supports business decisions with financial analysis.

You'll bring ACA/ACMA/CIMA qualification and strong Excel and data analysis skills to drive improvements in processes, controls, and reporting while collaborating with budget holders and the wider finance team.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACMA/CIMA qualification required or studying.
• Strong Excel skills and an interest in data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Own month-end processes and reporting.
• Manage accruals, prepayments and journal postings.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting.
• Provide variance analysis with commentary.
• Prepare monthly management information.
• Monitor cash flow reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with budget holders and stakeholders.
• Support year-end and external audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.
• Support wider finance team with ad hoc projects.

Financial Controller

Please note this role is office based.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a new role to support a growing business, overseeing a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Ownership of month-end processes and reporting
• Accruals, prepayments and journal postings
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Variance analysis with clear commentary
• Preparation of monthly management information
• Cash flow reporting and analysis
• Working closely with budget holders and operational stakeholders
• Providing financial analysis to support business decisions
• Supporting year-end and external audit requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and analysis

The ideal candidate

• You'll ideally be qualified ACA/ACMA/CIMA
