Job description

CY Executive are working closely with a leading, renowned UK-wide organisation that requires a confident Financial Controller to join one of its established entities within the Group.

Within this newly created role, as Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role, adding value and providing strong financial oversight where needed, while taking responsibility for the accurate monitoring and reporting of all financial results for the entity.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Overseeing all day-to-day financial aspects of the entity, providing insight and support to Management and Operational staff to facilitate sound decision-making.
2. Managing a small, multi-skilled team of four.
3. Assisting with and ensuring that monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines are met.
4. Regularly forecasting and reviewing budgets and variances.
5. Ensuring the accuracy of the P&L statement and completion of monthly financial reports in line with set deadlines.
6. Implementing and supporting Group directives.
7. Ensuring all receipts are banked promptly and that debtor days are closely monitored.
8. Maintaining the integrity of accounting systems and data.
9. Taking responsibility for all aspects of the Balance Sheet.
10. Working closely with Senior Management to provide sound financial advice and assistance as required.

Experience and skills required:

1. A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) is highly desirable.
2. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP.
3. The ability to demonstrate self-confidence, commercial acumen, and strong communication skills.
4. Background in Manufacturing, civil engineering or construction beneficial.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. The ability to produce accurate, timely, and reliable financial information.
7. Previous supervisory experience.
8. A UK driving licence is required for this position, as occasional travel will be involved.
9. Experience in a project/contract-based business is highly desirable.
