Job description

Shape the financial future of a growing group.

TST Group, based in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, is growing, and we're looking for a Financial Controller who wants to be part of what comes next. You'll report directly to the Finance Director and sit at the centre of the business. You'll be the person who turns numbers into insight for the FD, the Board, auditors, bankers, and investors.

This isn't a role for keeping the lights on. You'll lead a talented finance team, sharpen how we work, and play a hands-on part in bringing newly acquired businesses into the Group. If you want real influence, visibility at Board level, and the chance to build something, read on.

What you'll be doing
  • Owning the monthly close. You'll lead the team through monthly management accounts, from first entries to a polished set ready for FD review, on time, every time. You'll also produce the group consolidated accounts.
  • Telling the story to the Board. Each month you'll prepare the finance Board pack, giving our leadership the clarity they need to make big decisions.
  • Getting the most from our systems. You'll champion our ERP and wider finance systems, pushing them to work harder and smarter for the business.
  • Planning for growth. You'll work closely with the FD on annual budgets and reforecasts across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Leading the audit. You'll run the annual group audit from start to finish and make sure we meet every external reporting requirement and deadline for our banks and HMRC.
  • Building a high-performing team. You'll manage workload across the finance function and develop your people, especially at management accountant level, so they can grow and be promoted from within.
  • Driving continuous improvement. You'll design and implement policies and procedures that make the department faster, sharper, and more efficient.
  • Powering our acquisition strategy. As TST Group expands, you'll help integrate new businesses into the Group. It's exciting, fast-paced work that will stretch you and broaden your experience.
What you'll bring
  • Proven experience producing group consolidated accounts
  • Strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for developing people
  • Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders, including at Board level
  • A drive to improve processes and make systems work harder
  • The energy to thrive in a growing, acquisitive business

You'll have a seat close to the decision-making and a direct line to the FD. You'll lead a team you can shape and grow, and you'll play a real role in a business on the move. If you're ready to make your mark, we'd love to hear from you.
