Overall Job Purpose

You will be a key member of the growing financial accounting advisory specialists national team. You will be responsible for working on a broad range of technical accounting, financial reporting, and business advisory assignments. As a manager, you would be expected to complete technically challenging projects, including the practical application of accounting standards under FRS 102, IFRS, and FRS 101, group reconstructions and accounting considerations, conversion to different GAAPs, technical accounting papers, and acquisition accounting support.

The role would also include managing the preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS and FRS 101.

The fast growth of the department will create opportunities to develop further skill sets including business development and coaching of junior staff. It will also present an opportunity to work with a variety of colleagues and businesses across the UK, as well as supporting your local office.

A strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting principles is essential.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervision and coaching of junior team members in the preparation of financial statements that are compliant with FRS 102, FRS 101, IFRS, and other relevant standards.
  2. Leading complex accountancy projects for clients, such as IFRS transition consultancy or acquisition accounting support.
  3. Acting as a primary contact with clients, communicating issues and proposing solutions.
  4. Managing a portfolio of clients and projects, including client care, project management, and WIP/billing.
  5. Practicing excellent client service, involving significant client contact.
  6. Liaising with other departments, ensuring deadlines are met, and issues are resolved timely.
  7. Coaching junior staff and participating in staff training and supervision; potential line management depending on experience.
  8. Willingness to travel to client premises; most work is office-based within our growing team.

Personal and Professional Qualities

  1. ACA Qualified or equivalent.
  2. Experience with UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting.
  3. Professional practice experience in accounting advisory or providing written advice to clients.
  4. Strong project management and organizational skills.
  5. Client engagement experience.
  6. Supervision of junior staff experience.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
