Job description

We’re recruiting a Finance Analyst for a well-established business in Wrexham, offering the opportunity to work closely with commercial, procurement and operational teams and play a key role in supporting business decision-making.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys analysis, problem solving and business partnering, and wants to develop their experience in a genuinely commercial finance role.

Working closely with the Commercial Business Partner, you’ll provide financial analysis and insight across both the Commercial and Procurement functions.

You’ll get involved in areas including customer and supplier profitability, tender analysis, cost pricing, commodities, budgeting and strategic planning — helping stakeholders understand not just what the numbers are doing, but why they’re moving and what that means for the business.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Producing detailed financial and commercial analysis across customers, suppliers, commodities and services.
  • Providing clear variance analysis and explaining the key drivers behind performance.
  • Supporting customer and supplier tender processes, analysing costs and commercial information.
  • Breaking down complex financial information and presenting it clearly to stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting profitability analysis and helping the business understand commercial performance.
  • Maintaining and developing business information and reporting systems.
  • Using internal and external data to identify trends and provide meaningful insight.
  • Supporting budgeting, strategic planning and commercial projects.
  • Working closely with Procurement, Commercial and Operations to ensure financial insight supports business decisions.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, processes and the quality of financial information.

We’re looking for someone with strong analytical skills who is comfortable working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience within a Finance Analyst, Management Accountant, Commercial Finance or similar analytical finance role.
  • Part-qualified CIMA / ACCA status would be advantageous, although this isn't essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to interpret financial information and turn it into useful commercial insight.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Confidence building relationships with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced environment would be particularly useful.
  • Good financial systems and Excel skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
