Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT).
• Experience in management accounting, including period-end processes, POs, and sales invoicing.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong overall IT literacy.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication across finance, operational and commercial teams.
• Proactive, adaptable, and willing to learn new skills.
• Able to work independently, problem solve, and remain calm under pressure.
• Experience in service, logistics, or waste industries would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly management accounts, with variance analysis and commentary across designated units.
• Produce monthly reporting packs for business and divisional reporting requirements.
• Manage monthly CAPEX reporting and forecasting with budget vs. investment analysis.
• Partner with Finance BPs and operations to develop budgets, forecasts, and 5-year plans.
• Consolidate divisional budgets, forecasts and long-range plans for Central Finance submission.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations complying with Group policies.
• Support year-end audit process with documentation and auditor queries.
• Deliver financial insight to enable informed commercial decision-making across the business.
• Prepare and manage monthly customer invoicing ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide support across the Divisional Finance Team during periods of absence.
• Contribute to ad hoc analysis, projects and business initiatives.

We are seeking a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of the accounting, management accounts, and financial reporting for selected business units within the Division. Partnering closely with operational management, including location managers, you will ensure the delivery of accurate financial information, maintain robust financial controls, and drive compliance with established procedures.

Your core responsibilities

• Own the preparation of monthly management accounts, delivering insightful variance analysis and performance commentary across designated business units.
• Produce accurate and timely monthly reporting packs to support business and divisional reporting requirements.
• Manage monthly CAPEX reporting and forecasting, providing clear analysis against budget and investment plans.
