Job summary

Megger is seeking a highly capable Financial Accountant for a 6-month fixed-term contract in the United Kingdom. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain robust controls, and support statutory and group reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will report to the Finance Manager and contribute to month-end activities, balance sheet integrity and continuous improvement while collaborating with stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) required.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience preparing financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• A proactive, self-motivated and collaborative team player with strong communication skills, high professional integrity and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including the preparation and posting of journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Support group reporting and the preparation of annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP/FRS 102.
• Assist with external audits, VAT returns and other regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
