The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in Wimbledon is seeking a Financial Accountant to maintain financial integrity, owning reconciliations, VAT reporting, and statutory accounts preparation. You will collaborate with the Financial Controller and Senior Financial Accountant, with some international exposure to MENA and Ireland.

The role suits a qualified accountant who enjoys detail work and contributing to a broader finance function. Hybrid working is offered in Wimbledon.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT.
• Experience performing reconciliations.
• Solid knowledge of financial statements.
• Strong communication with auditors and finance team.

Responsabilités

• Carry out monthly and ad hoc reconciliations for bank and key balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for submission to HMRC.
• Prepare other compliance returns, including to the ONS and HMRC.
• Perform due diligence assessments on key customers and suppliers.
• Monitor cash balances, and carry out banking and investment portfolio accounting and administration.
• Support the coordination of the external audit and the production of our annual statutory accounts.
• Work collaboratively with the Financial Controller, Senior Financial Accountant, and the wider finance team.
• Take on some international duties and responsibilities, working with teams in MENA and Ireland.

The Role

As Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in maintaining the CIPD's financial integrity, taking ownership of bank and balance sheet reconciliations, VAT reporting, and financial due diligence, while supporting the preparation of our statutory accounts. You'll work closely with the Financial Controller and Senior Financial Accountant, collaborating across the wider finance team, with some international exposure through our teams based in MENA and Ireland.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys getting hands-on with the detail while contributing to a broader, collaborative finance function.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out monthly and ad hoc reconciliations for bank and key balance sheet accounts

What you'll need to be successful

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT)
• Experience performing reconciliations
• Solid knowledge of financial statements
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with auditors and colleagues across the finance team
• A solutions-focused mentality, with the ability to work accurately and to deadline
