White Swan Data in London, UK is seeking a Financial Accountant with roughly 3 years’ experience who is at least part-qualified. You will have a solid grasp of accounting principles, audit processes, and advanced Excel.

In a fast-paced start-up environment, you will manage month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and budgeting alongside other finance professionals. The role requires flexible handling of priorities and clear communication across levels.

Qualifications

• Must be at least part-qualified as an accountant.
• 3 years of experience in audit or finance with high volume transactions.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the month-end reporting process including preparation, review and consolidation of monthly management accounts.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.
• Allocate departmental costs to enable variance and trend analysis.
• Prepare and post key journals such as accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income/costs.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting to ensure funds are deployed effectively.
• Assist in year-end statutory processes, handling audit queries and liaising with tax advisors.
• Oversee compliance with tax legislation and regulations, including VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE/NIC.
• Identify deficiencies in processes or controls and drive improvements.
• Deliver ad hoc projects as requested by the CFO.

Description

This is an ideal role for a finance professional with roughly 3 years’ experience. You will be at minimum a part-qualified accountant. You will have a good understanding of accountancy principles, audit processes, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Excellent knowledge of Excel

Nice to have:

• Exposure to ERP systems, with Xero being an advantage
• Good working knowledge of UK GAAP accounting standards
• Experience working in an accountancy firm
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
