Description
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Support the Management Accountant in the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, journals, and supporting reconciliations.
- Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes and maintain key balance sheet and control accounts.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and provide information for internal and external audits.
Banking & Reconciliations
- Complete and review bank reconciliations, resolving reconciling items promptly.
- Monitor cash flow and support treasury activities as required.
VAT & Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC requirements.
- Ensure compliance with charity accounting regulations, accounting standards, internal controls, and financial policies.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain the integrity of financial systems and data.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, systems, and reporting.
Team Management
- Responsible for line management, coaching and development of direct reports.
- Review work, provide training, and foster a collaborative and high-performing finance team
Stakeholder Support
- Build effective relationships with budget holders and operational teams, providing financial advice and support.
- Respond to finance queries and contribute to finance business partnering across the organisation.
Profile
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
- A professional qualification in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate financial information clearly.
Job Offer
- Salary ranging from £41,535 to £50,765, dependent on the level of experience.
