Job Description:
The Role:
As a specialist in BlackLine or similar digital tools, you’ll lead end-to-end transformation projects for key financial close solutions, supporting clients across industries and ranging from Mid-Market to Enterprise.You’ll work directly with finance and IT stakeholders to understand business challenges, align solutions to policies and controls, and design automated, scalable processes.
You’ll also work effectively with internal delivery teams and client-side project managers, feeding into project planning, milestone tracking, and critical path activities. You’ll help drive scope, flag risks or blockers early, and keep delivery aligned to timelines, resourcing, and stakeholder expectations on both side.
This role will have a strong focus on our R2R service line, and we require a minimum of 3-5 years’ hands-on experience with BlackLine or similar financial close tools (e.g., Trintech, Oracle ARCS, OneStream), with at least 2 end-to-end full lifecycle implementations, including Account Reconciliation, Journals, and Transaction Matching modules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end BlackLine implementations, focusing on Account Reconciliation, Journals, and Transaction Matching modules
- Collaborate with finance, IT, and project managers (internal and client-side) to align solutions with policies and controls, track milestones, manage scope, and drive delivery against timelines, using risk mitigation strategies where needed
- Design and deliver automated, scalable financial close processes, offering consultative input on R2R best practices, process improvement, and automation opportunities
- Support the integration of BlackLine with other systems (e.g., ERPs, Reporting tools) using APIs or SFTP
- Develop and maintain implementation roadmaps and strategies to scale BlackLine adoption
- Conduct hands-on training and ensure post-go-live success through ongoing support, process optimisation, and continuous improvement
Technical Skills Required:
- Hands-on configuration of BlackLine modules, particularly Account Reconciliation, Journals, and Transaction Matching
- Understanding of R2R process design and its link to policy, control frameworks, and automation
- Experience integrating BlackLine with ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle, D365, Workday) and external systems (e.g POS, Treasury, Reporting tools, IAM) using APIs and SFTP
- Solid understanding of data structures and transformation, with the ability to read, troubleshoot, and validate data flows between systems and work confidently with file formats
- Proficient in using BlackLine dashboards & reporting, as well as tools like Tableau or Power BI, to surface insights and track adoption
- Familiarity with security models, user roles, and permissions within financial close tools
- Confident working in test environments to validate configuration and troubleshoot issues before deployment
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience with BlackLine or similar financial close tools (e.g., Trintech, Oracle ARCS, OneStream)
- Proven expertise in end-to-end implementations, with at least 2 full lifecycle BlackLine projects, and strong knowledge of R2R processes, financial close best practices, and automation
- Experience in client-facing roles, providing consultative advice on financial close solutions and process improvements
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders across finance and IT
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and optimize scalable, automated workflows
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience leading workshops and training sessions
- Background in finance, accounting, or financial close consulting, with relevant qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred
