The Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a Head of Financial Accounting & Control to lead our financial accounting, transaction services and payroll during a period of transformation.

Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure robust financial governance, manage statutory reporting and audits, and drive improvements across processes and systems while supporting organisational growth. This is a full-time role with on-site requirements.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification with significant post-qualified experience.
• Strong technical accounting, including group consolidation.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams in deadlines-driven environments.
• Track record of improving financial processes and robust governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to explain complex matters.
• Strong commercial awareness and proactive problem solving.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Financial Accounting, Transaction Services and Payroll teams, providing leadership to a team of 11 through three direct reports.
• Deliver statutory reporting, group consolidations and annual audits, including consolidated financial statements.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, controls and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
• Oversee VAT, insurance management, cash management and external regulatory returns.
• Provide strategic financial input into new commercial ventures, funding models and initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver finance transformation and strengthen governance.
