Job summary

AAB in Glasgow is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to lead a team of Finance Assistants and Management Accountants within the Hotels department. You will coach staff, delegate tasks, and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for designated clients.

You will oversee daily reconciliations, AP activities, payroll, and ledger maintenance, while improving processes and internal controls to meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Finance Assistants and Management Accountants.
• Delegate tasks to ensure deadlines and quality standards.
• Oversee daily reconciliations, AP tasks, payment runs, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage the monthly management accounts cycle for designated clients.
• Ensure accurate processing of invoices, payroll, and ledger maintenance.
• Review Management Accounts and communicate progress to clients.
• Review and approve Balance Sheets and share completed files with clients.
• Align policies and controls with departmental procedures.
• Develop robust internal controls to meet client needs.
• Build strong client relationships and identify value-adding opportunities.
• Promote continuous improvement and process enhancements.
• Handle ad hoc accounting projects and client reporting when required.
• Stay informed on industry trends to offer timely solutions.
