Job summary

ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Glasgow, is seeking a Finance & Business Systems Manager on a hybrid basis. This 3-month contract role leads a team responsible for commercial financial management, business systems, IT and data stewardship, ensuring robust financial control and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial processes management or business systems management within a large organisation.
• Experience in public sector or related environment.
• Budgets, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis experience.
• Overseeing business systems, IT platforms, data or reporting tools.
• Experience leading administrative or professional services teams.
• Ability to communicate complex financial or technical information to non-specialists.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and forecasts.
• Manage financial controls across multiple cost centres and drive efficiencies.
• Oversee income‑generating activities and external invoicing and reporting.
• Act as data steward and system lead for key IT platforms and drive system optimisation.
• Provide daily line management for a central support team and develop staff capability.
• Plan workload, allocate tasks, and drive process improvements in admin and systems.
• Support policy improvements and SOP development.
