Qualifications

  • Degree or vocational qualification in finance, economics, science, business or related discipline.
  • Experience in clinical operations, project management or equivalent environment.
  • Understanding of clinical drug development, particularly study start-up and contracting activities.
  • Strong financial knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, analysis and payment management.
  • Ability to work independently with a structured, delivery-focused approach.
  • Effective communication and collaboration within local and global matrix environments.

Job Description Summary

Make a direct impact on the successful delivery of clinical research by ensuring the financial foundations of our studies run seamlessly. As a Finance Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing study budgets, overseeing investigator payments, and providing the financial insights that help clinical teams deliver high-quality trials efficiently and compliantly. Working closely with cross-functional colleagues across Study & Site Operations, Clinical Project Management and Contracting, you will help drive operational excellence while supporting innovation that ultimately brings new medicines to patients faster.

  • Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: £32,690 to £60,710
  • The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.
  • In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
