Job summary

Lorien is seeking a Finance Risk & Controls Lead for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on strengthening the risk and control environment across the Finance function with autonomy and end-to-end ownership of processes.

The position is mostly remote with occasional onsite attendance at offices in London, the Midlands and Edinburgh. You will work with Heads of Finance and senior stakeholders to design, implement and monitor SOX controls and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a SOX control environment and implementing control frameworks
• Solid financial reporting background within finance
• Experience in financial services; life insurance advantageous
• Professional qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication at all levels
• Proactive, with strong organisation and prioritisation skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee control frameworks in a SOX environment
• Assess risks and effectiveness of controls across end-to-end processes
• Identify practical improvements and provide oversight
• Partner with Heads of Finance and senior stakeholders
• Deliver high-quality outputs to tight deadlines
