Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Geography, Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
• Degree obtained within the last 3 years or currently being studied, with graduation by September 2027.
• Curiosity, ambition and willingness to learn.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Collaborative working style.
• Flexibility to work across the Huntingdon area, visit Peterborough occasionally, and potentially work across the region and departments.
• Interest in securing investment in vital infrastructure upgrades and passion for the water industry.

Responsibilities

• Complete structured placements across Anglian Water during the two-year graduate programme.
• Support decisions balancing customer affordability, environmental ambition and long-term investment.
• Work on projects influencing investment in water services and infrastructure.
• Finance pathway: develop expertise in financial controls, accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, investment appraisal and business planning.
• Assess financial performance and evaluate investment opportunities.
• Provide insights supporting key business decisions.
• Regulation pathway: understand economic regulation of a water company in practice.
• Connect government policy, regulatory frameworks, business planning and investment delivery.
• Contribute to major regulatory reform and the 2029 Price Review business plan.
• Build analytical, commercial and leadership skills with support from experienced colleagues and mentors.
