Finance & Operations Manager | Food Manufacturing Scaleup | West London

The Client

Harmonic is partnering with a fast-scaling food start-up disrupting the FMCG scene. Backed by experienced industry founders and investors, this company has quickly become a preferred supplier for top chefs, restaurants, and retailers across the UK.

The company combines heritage techniques with modern manufacturing to produce authentic, bold, and sustainably sourced food products in London. Following a successful launch in 2023, they are entering an exciting scale-up phase and are hiring a key member for their finance and operations team.

The Role

This role offers an entrepreneurial environment where no two days are the same. Reporting directly to the MD, you will own the finance function and oversee planning and purchasing within the supply chain. Your role will involve developing financial, operational, and system frameworks to support growth, ensuring efficient and scalable processes across the business.

You will work cross-functionally to optimize commercial processes, support strategic decision-making, and implement supply chain infrastructure that balances agility with scalability. It is ideal for a hands-on Finance Manager or Finance & Ops professional experienced in early-stage environments, looking to build and influence across multiple areas.

Responsibilities:

Finance

• Lead monthly management accounts and investor reporting with clear performance analysis
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow models aligned with growth plans
• Oversee credit control, payment cycles, and working capital optimization
• Handle foreign currency exposure, insurance, and payroll processes
• Implement financial controls and ensure legal compliance
• Provide commercial insights and costing analysis for strategic decisions

Supply Chain & Operations

• Evaluate and implement systems (ERP, demand planning, KPI dashboards) to support scaling
• Build inventory and stock reporting frameworks for accuracy and visibility
• Manage raw material and finished goods purchasing based on forecasts
• Drive cost efficiencies through supply chain performance analysis
• Support business development with sales reporting and margin tracking
• Coordinate between finance, production, and commercial teams

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG operations
• Proven ability to produce and present management accounts and forecasts
• Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
• Understanding of batch costing, demand planning, and ERP systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to HR, IT, and broader operational functions
• Project management or systems implementation experience
• Passion for food, culture, and sustainability

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 + 10% bonus + benefits
